Birthday Breakfast
The annual Birthday Breakfast is Faith Family’s signature fundraising event of the year. It began in 2009, when the Center decided to celebrate its first eight years of successes by inviting friends of the clinic to the first ever Birthday Breakfast. That first breakfast raised $70,000 in donations from current donors and 130 new supporters and honored three lifetime board members: Dr. David Gaw, Dr. John Lamb, and Mr. Charlie Martin. The Breakfast tradition is deeply rooted in the caring community of physicians and supporters who believe in FFMC’s mission and continues to this day.
2016 Birthday Breakfast
Faith Family’s 8th annual Birthday Breakfast was held on Wednesday, October 19 at Woodmont Christian Church. Breakfast Chairs were Faith Family Volunteers Ann and Kirby Davis. The morning was a huge success with over 450 guests attending, and more than $200,000 being raised. Special thanks to Presenting Sponsor Freeman Webb and Distinguished Sponsor Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Frist, Jr. The Premium Sponsor was Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee Health Foundation, and Benefactors were Ingenious Med and Relatient.
Honorees were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Blevins, Faith Family friends who generously support all of our Diabetes Days; Mr. and Mrs. Willie K. Davis, Faith Family supporters since 2001. Mr. Davis was instrumental in negotiating our $1 per year lease with St. Thomas Midtown, which continues today; and Dr. Don Griffin, who treats Faith Family patients in need of surgical procedures related to skin cancers, etc.
Rubel Shelly, noted author, minister, and professor at Lipscomb University was the featured speaker. His remarks centered around people’s responsibility to help those less fortunate. Supporting Faith Family provides the opportunity to fulfill that responsibility.
Faith Family Medical Center is grateful to all of our sponsors, donors, volunteers and guests who made the morning so special. Mark your calendars next year for Wednesday, October 18, 2017 for the 9th annual Breakfast. Chairs Pam and Tom Wylly are already making plans!
